The Narrows

In September 2002, several friends and I decided to brave the Narrows - a canyon in Zion National Park that is (you guessed it) narrow.  About half of the hike involves wading through the rocked-filled river, which is (according to the National Park literature) like "balancing on slippery bowling balls."  This assessment proved to be quite accurate and I came home with a messed up knee.  The water in some places was shoulder deep, which is a bit tricky when you have packs, but we managed to come through as dryly as possible.
